Default Installing Garmin Transducer

Going for a little Black Friday goodies and on the list is a Garmin UHD 94 sv

Question is how best to run the transducer cable to the console?

I ques the choices are over the transom or drill hole thru it

Suggestions and pitfalls????

I put a Garmin 74SV on my Sceptre last summer, skipped the transom mount and went with a thru-hull transducer instead.
Not a fan of the transom mounts. Seen too many ruined transoms, and too many transducers flopping around and broken off at the ramp.

If you do go transom mount you can go through the transom just close out the core with epoxy where the wire goes through.

Up and over through the rigging hose and to the console through the rigging conduit

I went over the transom and then thru a clamshell type cover that I completely filled with sealant to prevent water from coming in thru it.

I installed it by drilling thru the hull, mine is composite, but used lots of sealant on bother sides so no water comes in.

Got the boat up to 45 and it still read the bottom, quess I placed it right.

I think I need to find tune the engine height up one hole. Wide open I could only get 4900 rpm trimer up. It does go close to 45 mph . Maybe try a different prop also.
