Default Need info. on outboard bracket

I'm looking at an 03 Sea Craft. It has an 03 yam 250 2S 800 hrs. The boat needs
some interior work gunnel pads. The asking price is $26K. which doesn't seem bad but it has no T Top and I don't like the big opening at the transom. I think the Sea Crafts look great with a closed transom and outboard bracket.
So back to my question. I assume it's easier to add one to an I/O.

Thank ahead for any info.

I made some mistakes when I joined because I made assumptions instead of asking
questions. I also thought my skill level was above my pay grade.

Call Don Herman of Hermco.com to discuss his wonderful brackets.
He is a mod here.

Holy cow, if you pay around $26k for an '03/'03, with no t-top that would probably get my '78 on the market around somewhere just below that number. Prices are getting crazy on boats.

I am on Seacraft #5 and all have had open transoms and no issues with water ever..being an 03 you could just bracket that and leave the transom open and save yourself thousands of dollars though it might not be the look your after, but you wont have to climb over the transom to get in and out if your diving or what not

Yeah I know Ryan, I have a friend who just sold a 2009 (I think an '09) 20' Tracker/Mako made SeaCraft with no problem. However I don't want a late model SC, my old, paid for '78 clunker does just fine. Speaking of expensive, I noticed the new Hell's Bay 24' "bay boat" comes in at a smooth $110k with a 250hp. Holy shit!! Way out of my tax bracket!

Op , closing the transom and adding a bracket will be a nice addition to that boat, the best bracket is made by www.hermco.net. It will probably run you around 8k for the bracket and transom.

8K is probably about right if transom is rotted, but if it's solid, figure more like 5-6K to fill in cutout and install bracket.
