Lithium battery replacements
Any experience with these? Saw this add and am considering a couple: http://ocala.craigslist.org/boa/4604659135.html
Sounds too good to be true but if they work and last they would be great for cutting stern weight and offer unlimited mounting options.

Link is dead; says CL posting removed. I can find it going to the Ocala CL and doing the search there. Can't figure out who makes 'em to do the research; green casing without large logos.
"USED LITHIUM BATTERY / 12 VOLT - 110 AMP HOUR This battery weighs about one third the weight of conventional lead acid, AGM or GEL batteries, give about twice the mileage on a charge, and last about 5 times the number of charges of a standard lead acid, AGM or GEL battery. They do not gas during charge and will charge with just about any 12 volt charger. Great battery for your trolling motor or as a starter battery." Anybody know? |

I have one for my jet ski and atv. They are almost double the price but so far have been great. Definitely lighter.

The poster sent me an email last night and said he will send me a a clearer pic today but I'm smelling a scam as the photo in the ad is a stock photo I saw on the web when I was researching. Location states the Villages so if it is real I will be able to put hands on as they would be close by. Considering the Villages is the golf cart capital of Florida it could be real but $1000 batteries for less than half falls under the "too good to be real" category. We'll see.....

Be careful. A lot of lithium batteries chemistries react violently (fire) if they get wet. And they are pretty picky about charging.
