Default Cut out storage compartments and splash well?

Has anyone ever cut out storage compartments and splash well and extended floor to transom? I would maybe like to do this for more deck space. I'm currently starting my transom replacement and will be adding a bracket. Thanks.

The guy. That has my old 20sf did it and the boat has a lot more room! I would definitely use a floatation bracket.

Thanks for the pic. That's exactly what I want. Was there a lot of work involved? Do you have more pictures?
