Default Attention new registrations/members

Hello All-

First off thank you for registering with CSC.com and welcome to the site!!

Registrations get processed 2-3 times per week as we have to screen all emails for spam purposes, yes its a pain in the arse but if it is not done spambots get on here and try to sell Capt. Chuck "stay soft fro" and he gets cranky as all he uses is "perm ez"...(long story for another time) having said that we hope you understand 3 things:

1: Registration is not immediate, sometimes it takes up to 3 days (and longer if I am fishing)

2: Spambots and Spammers WASTE a ton of our time

3: Capt Chuck uses some strange hair care products.

OK with that said what can you do to speed up the registration?

1: do not register with a gmail or yahoo.com account, we used to ban them all together, but too many people use gmail.com so we now go through hundreds of registrations culling those that look legit. If all you use is gmail or yahoo, not a problem read on...

2: register with a username that stands preferably without numbers. For example most spambots have names like 33ghty22far, or 556htiann33, etc etc, pretty easy to pick out and delete BUT if you are 12fisherman1976 with a gmail.com account, that too may get culled.

Thanks again
J

You should not start sheet like this. I think I remember it's a political thing

Update

In one day we had 150 new registrations 2 were legit....

All the spammers have yahoo.com gmail.com and hotmail.com addresses

As I can not weed through 150 spammers daily I have set up the registration to ban those domains.

I hope this is temporary.

Hey, Trayder. First of all, thanks a million for all your hard work!!! Second, I met a gentleman in Collington, NC last week with a 78 20SF. I told him about the forum and he should be, if not already, trying to register. His first name is Pete and his last name begins with an "S". (Had too many beers last week on vacation). But, I told him to reference me, so keep a look out for Pete. Thanks.

Quick update to this, we are getting hit HARD by spambots, had 110 new registrations in the past 24 hours....If you recently tried to register and you had a cryptic username and a gmail.com accounts odds are you were deleted....Apologies..... if you are having issues please PM me
