Default Diamonds In The Ruff.

Well, here we are folks. Our very own thread. To say this has been an OZ like dream would be accurate. My parents sent us to bed before the dream sequence. Flying monkeys indeed. Give me some helium, and I can do the whole show by myself.

Spoke with Mark Hauptner today. He is the owner and designer of Ocean Master. He raced with Carl from Haulover to Key West in Carl`s boat. Was it My Flying Machine? More to come on that. Mark said they were running special bronze props and all had cracks at the end of the race. As Moesly came to the dock, he engaged the center 110 in reverse and the blades fell off. They set an outboard record at 62. Mark`s advice was just as the good Padre`s. Twins.
I`ll be sure to stock up on Pampers. Mark said these boats are so steep and deep that a single would get dirty water even with a 30" leg and a Potter/Hermco bracket. Balance was also at the fore. Being steep and deep has its advantages, bit it can also bite you badly as Carla and Mark have said. As a hard core ski racer as a child, I know what it means to catch an edge
and be staring at a tree with your name on it...

I thank all of you for your continued patience. I want an accurate back story for the library.
Many calls to make. The piece of steel in the transom was just a square rock. Marine Tex for now.
Got a 19 x 29 tarp and some trash bags.

Thanks all,
Humble Sandman

Ken, would you post that furry hat. Thanks.

Feelin`like Charlie Brown. I got a rock, and what a rock she is. Brian came over and flattened the heels of his hands. He left with a big smile on his face.

Thanks, that was awesome. You no longer need a decoder ring. I need more bubble wrap.

I think we should shut this down and move back over to the other thread. So much more fun. What is the fastest way to slideshow a cd to csc?

I`m thinking twin OP 150`s. Old school, but those stacked Chryzzzlers look sick as well. Know nothing about them though.

Thanks again all.

It would be cool to put some late 60's model Mercury 1100's on it like they had when they raced with the Tripples. How cool would that be! But I think that the Newer Merc Optis would be a better choice for dependibility and efficency. I am thinking on getting a pair of 200 opti pro xs outboards to go on the 27. But I think the 150's still would haul tail as well too. I got a ways to go before I worry to much on the power. Your boat seems to be a lot closer to see water. Cant wait to see the pics on that CD. Get them up!!!

Also from everthing that I have read and from what people have said I think twins is the way to go. From what I understand these boats will Proform a lot better with the pair of outboards vs a larger single. Keep us up on the progress!

Sandy, you could upload the photos from CD to photobucket. It used to be very easy to create a slideshow in pb, but they've just "upgraded" their site and it no longer has that capability! In fact, now you can't even move photos around within a folder that makes it easy to do a slide show! There used to be another option to "view (a folder) as a slideshow", and that's gone too! Sent them a nastygram complaining about it and their reply indicates that they haven't yet gotten around to adding that capability to the new site!

Sounds like some exec decided to make the new site operational before it was ready, to meet some arbitrary deadline! Classic example of idiot managers who don't understand that "Better" is the enemy of "Good Enough"! Maybe you'll be able to create a slideshow in about a year or so!

Default motors

Just happened to see this today on ebay. Nice pair of 150's with 0 hours on a fresh rebuild by a good shop with new equipment and a clean rep. One year warranty! Not a bad price for 2 outboards redone by a quality shop.
