Bracket and shaft length
I am restoring my old '76 23 center console Seacraft. I have always had twins but now I want to install a bracket and a single 250 to 300 hp outboard, I am looking for suggestions on a bracket and what size shaft I will need for the single. I feel I will have to have a 30" shaft, but I wanted to hear from other owners. Thanks.

There was a gentleman with his family and friends at the WPB gatering a month ago with a super sweet, very super sweet yellow 23' CC with a 30" shaft Mercury on a bracket. I'm hoping he took our invitation and joined our forum so he can fill us in on all the details of his restore. In most cases I think the 25" shaft is used, however I'm sold on going to a 30" shaft after seeing his setup, plus checking out Fellow Ship's 30" transom while he was in the Keys about six weeks ago there's no doubt in my mind I'm going with the longer shaft next time.

Brackets are designed for use with 25" shaft length motors. When doing a single motor installation of the larger horsepower four stroke motors (300 - 350 hp) or when you require the maximum floatation you can install a single 30" shaft length motor on our twin bracket.
