Default '73 23' Rework & boat porn :)

I'll post pics when I can. I'm not doing the glass work on this boat. It will be done by a local professional. Transom re-cored, deck replaced, and all hatches will be re-cored. The rear bulkhead will have hatches instead of the bolt-in type doors. Transom to get more of an arch and cooler/fishbox. Interior will be painted. I have a Hermco bracket and McKee pogy pen ready to install. We will probably change the color and are considering Awlgrip Aqua mist. I believe Strick's 23' was this color. I stripped the boat and through bolted the cap with 10-32 SS screws, lock nuts, fender washers and 5200 as the cap and coring is fine. The next step is the glass man.

Lots of potential there! Was your boat originally a I/O or did someone enclose the transom and cap before you owned it? Aqua mist is a nice color choice.

This is the old "Her Paycheck" boat. The transom was enclosed and alum. bracket when I bought it 4 1/2 yrs. ago. That work was done in mid 90's. I could have probably waited several more years and patched a soft spot on the deck but.....

Thanks again for your help and I'm sure I'm not finished asking you questions

Are you switching brackets for twins or more flotation?

Primarily flotation but it's nice to have options

Been a while but here goes......I need to finish all the goodies

I opted to go with hull vents and cut the holes before the glass man got the boat

Deck cut out

Transom replaced and tied in with raised stringers

Fuel tank compartment rebuilt and new 118 Gal epoxy coated tank installed, no foam!

I chose a large bilge access, 2 large bulkhead accesses, large baitwell/cooler. It's blue inside and could be plumbed. I have a McKee pogy pen for the serious live bait so this is probably cooler.

Ice Blue Awlgrip with white, blue non skid on deck and white on cap areas

The fish box is deeper with stringers taller

I hope to get the Hermco bracket and motor on in ~ 2 weeks and then start wiring.

Looks great!
What is the inside of the forward compartment like? There is a picture where someone is standing in it. Mine is just opened. You can see the front of the fuel tank but my tank is moved all the way forward then I have the fish box aft of the console. I always wondered how they were layed out?

Is it opened beneath the fish box? I see there is a drain for the bow compartment, so is there a bulk head between the bow area and beneath the fish box? I should post a picture of my boat which might make it more logical what I am trying to ask. On my 23 the bow compartment is completely open. My fuel tank buts up to that compartment then it is open below and all the way through the bilge. I have been think about pulling the top cap and doing some kind of dry storage up there. So I am curious as to how the factory sea craft is set up. I figured mine was cut out at some point since the fuel tank is so far forward the there is a large fish box under the leaning post. If you could post some pictures of that area I would appreciate it!
