Default Fiberglass Repair Material Recommendations

I have made a lot of structural repairs on a project and now have to fair the areas. I used polyester for my glass work, but am not locked into it for the fairing.

This will be for a deck area that will get Awlgrip.

What fairing compound do you recommend ? Strength and ease of application are key. I have used Duraglass in the past ( because the guy who 'taught me a few tricks' always used it ), but was wondering if there is something superior.

Oh, area to be done is 3" wide x 25' ( a few seams ) x 1/4" thick at most - and one area is 2' x 1' x 1/4" thick...

I like both System Three Quick Fair and ATC Poly-Fair.
Both are available in one day to your area from Mertons www.mertons.com

The System Three Quick Fair is an epoxy based fairing compound that works great.Easy to apply, very durable and sands easily.
The Poly-Fair is a polyester product that is also easy to use and apply. It is like a very high quality version of body filler.
I guess I like the Quick Fair the best, although both are quality products, and either one would work well under Awlgrip.

I have used Systems 3 and liked it. The only problem that I had with it is the mix ratio...get this wrong and you can have a gooey mess.

For that reason I switched to Adtech Products....very simple mix ration 1:1

The product sands well and is really strong.

Adtec Ultra Fair 861
