My call for the STOCK MARKET (Scary)
Many of you remember my post in 2/08 about the market insanity. That was when the dow was at 12,500 and I predicted much more bad to come.
THE MARKET MADE A FATAL TOP IN APRIL. THIS IS CALLED A HEAD AND SHOULDERS PATTERN. THE CHART IS NOW POINTING TO DOW 6547. (within 1 year or less) IF IT BREAKS THAT WE COULD SEE DOW 3300. As I recommended in 2/08, sit down with your financial advisor. Talk about risk. Talk about removing beta from your portfolio. If you have good profits on individual equities perhaps put in stop loss orders. Cash is the safest place. By the way, the above prediction is based not on fundamentals but technical patterns. Many of the numbers I follow were created in the 50's and 60's and are no longer followed by really any one on Wall St. Good luck.

Re: My call for the STOCK MARKET (Scary)
We decided to purchase a 1 acre piece of "bottom land" near the Withlacoochee River to plant crops, raise a few chickens and goats, etcetera. We'll also put a barn/shed on the land as soon as we can afford it.
If you don't mind the work, just 1/2 of an acre of bottom land can, without using power tools, grow enough fruit and vegetables to meet the needs of a family of 4 for these items year round, including quadrennially allowing a fourth of that land to lie fallow. Takes about 6-8 hours of work weekly, plus extra work at planting and gathering time. Biggest problems are wild animals (especially deer and hogs) and insects.

Re: My call for the STOCK MARKET (Scary)
Quote:
Any deer on my property who eats even one leaf of cultivated agricultural product, whether ornamental or food-producing, is likewise legally a "pest", and may be "destroyed", "eliminated", or "controlled" without penalty, providing such action is reported to the state within 60 days. One control method I really like that I saw at a neighbor's place is a 12' high net, 600' long, which can be swiftly raised, trapping the, um, "pests" in an enclosed area, from where they can be herded/driven into an enclosure designed to control their access to the aforementioned agricultural product. Within that 2 acre enclosed area, to prevent accusations of cruelty, the dee_, I mean pests, are fed properly, and given minerals and vitamins. When the numbers grow too large for their herd health, the herd is "culled" to maintain healthy numbers. He "controls" the encroachment of these "pests" by removing several "pests" every year from his garden, and putting them into the enclosed area. He "culls" about 6-8 deer, er, "pests" per year on his little 40 acre piece of bottom land. It's for their own good, of course.

Re: My call for the STOCK MARKET (Scary)
I have an AMAZING receipe for a hog pot roast. For you folks in the heat, it can be adapted to a crock pot while those of us up here in the cold the hours in the oven keep us warm during those cold months.
