Bracket Mount 23 SF
I am considering placing a bracket on a 23 SF. Any issues with performance in rough seas. Should I just redo transom

Re: Bracket Mount 23 SF
Your transom is 30 years old it probably is time to replace it make it a full transom no notch then add a bracket if you are a bracket guy.
I dont use a bracket but the guys that have switched their boats over say they perform better after they put a full flotation bracket on. FellowShip . Just for the Grins Official Antique Classic SeaCraft Owner |

Wannafly,
Give us more details about your current setup, condition of your transom and budget. Doing a transom and bracket will definitely give your boat a way better ride in my opinion however you're looking at ballpark 7k for a transom and bracket.

Re: Bracket Mount 23 SF
Ours works great, gives you more room. Be sure you have enought flotation if you go with four stroke(s). We have 2 f 150s and we are adding another flotation chamber as we speak under the bracket. It will give us another 300 pounds of lift. A single may not need that. Bottom line the bracket is the way to go in my eyes.
