Default 2009 CSC Gathering Final Location Poll

Ok, from the 1st poll it is 50/50 for the Bahamas vs. Long Point or the Keys. To get all 15-20 members who plan on coming, we need to pin this thing down. So, lets split the 3 choices and vote again. Add comments by posting below the poll...........

It looks like Long Point's location, ability to have the gathering over a long weekend, and cost are pulling in the most votes. Any thoughts????

My vote is for the Bahamas, only for the fact that I will already be there, yet if the long point gathering is not the same as my planned trip I might come to that one also.

FYI:
To enter Bahamaian waters a passport is a requirement
with homeland stupidity in effect.

Looks like the majority is for Long Point...
I will check with them to see what is open for April 09

I quess it does not matter where here is as long as we are
here....

See ya, Ken

I will vote for the Bahamas also. The gathering would be a bit more memorable and for those who like to fish this trip would be great.

Long Point is a bit closer to home for me and much cheaper, but it will not compare to seeing all the Seacrafts clearing customs in the islands.

Rainmaker and Caymanboy-

The Bahamas is the ultimate destination which requires the extra resources to make it happen. The Bahamas trip is a once every few years idea or an every year or two trip by the South East Florida SC group. I agree about the Bahamas being the most memorable. It needs to be longer than 4 days(most chose a 4 day weekend on the last poll) to attract a group outside of SouthEast Florida, probably about 10-14 days(even SE FL guys will want longer than 4 days). I am dying to get there, and know many who have put the work into their boats who plan to go ASAP. A SMALLER GROUP SHOULD GO NOW IN 2009 and also come to Long Point where there will be about 30-40 people.

I just got off the phone with Long Point and the weekend of April 24th 2009 looks like a good date for them. Any comments?

I agree with gofast, long point is a bonus, my goal is to be done with the little girl by the first week of april, that should happen, aneyhoo, I still plan on being in the Abaco's late July, don't know anything about long point, so if someone could fill me in. Long point in April, land o conch in July, sounds like a plan, now if it just comes together????
