Default 40\" Snook

Thought I would share a picture of my snook. It was 40.5" and the 3rd largest I've ever caught but gave me the best fight. The 2 largest were 43 and 44. Took a rattletrap under a small bridge early last Sunday.

Nice line-sider FF. What a great fishery you have down there. Just out of curiosity, how much does a 40" snook weigh? 18-20#? What color of rattle trap would you use this time of year? Does the preferred color change with the season? Thanks. - McGill

P.S. I've run across your website before -nice...

This one wieghed right at 20# though she was not real fat. I was using a larger saltwater silver/blueback rattletrap though I normally like gold that far up the canal system. Lures arent as big an issue as conditions and presentation. My other favorites are white bucktail jig, mirrorlure 7m greenback, 5" Storm mullet and other various softbaits.

Thanks for checking my fishing web site, I just added more snook pictures today including this one, also a baby tarpon pic, click the first link below in my sig.

Wow! Nice fish.

I caught my first snook off Captain Chuck's dock...and then I caught several with Briguy on a charter. None of them were even close to that size...way to go.
