merc 200, whats she worth, repower??
Not neccessarily trying to repower just yet, but everyone that sees this motor comments on it "them boys in FL love those ol' merc 2 strokes", etc. its a 92 200 hp, rebuilt in 06. just put a new starter in and cleaned out the carbs. she purrs like a kitten (actually more like a harley). my mech. said somewhere around $2500-3000 probably. it pushes my 85 18 fter. would the zuke 140 be a good match for that boat? everywhere i turn people are talking about that motor, and i havent heard a bad thing yet. would 175 be too much? and whats the best 175 out right now? i just read a terifying article about "peak oil" (basically that the amt of oil in the earth is on a bell curve and we're sliding down the back side of it fast) and am getting worried about dropping 50 bucks to putt around for the afternoon. any info is greatly appreciated.

Re: merc 200, whats she worth, repower??
2.5L 20" 200hp motors are pretty desirable for bass folks and little go fast boats (checkmate, hydrostream, allison, etc.). You'll probably get around $2500 if the motor looks clean and has good even compression.

If thats the case then you should list it on Scream & Fly .com for those guys.
My buddy just found a brand new 06 Johnson 150 in his shed, its the carbed version but about half the cost of the Etec's - he has a couple 07's but only a 200 and 225 which are too big.
