That does not look all that bad really. Tank is fairly new. Gotta love the size of the stringers. What are your worries?

I guess i'm so used to whats above the floor instead of what was underneath. This is the first floor i've done.

Re: 79 Sceptre floor project (What a mess!)
Raise the floor 1.75" to self bailing, glass in the sinkcraft holes in the deck and bottom of the hull, divert the water off of your self bailing deck throuth the transom. You'll be glad that you did. Nice work so far, just make sure that you remove all (Vacuum) of the Putty off the top of the stringers, so that any loose putty doesn't end up between the stringer and the tank. While your in there, replace both vent, and fuel hoses, even if they look good, not that expensive and it will give you piece of mind. Be sure to use 2 hose clamps. Take measurements from corners of the boat that aren't going to change to mark where your fill hose and vent lines come into the take. This is for future reference if you need to install a pie inspection plant. Look near the bottom of the stringer where it comes in the deck and makes a 45 degree the bend, take a screw driver and add pressure at that corner for the lenght of the boat. Try to see if you need to add additional glass in the crease, I had to do it on two seacrafts, a 74 and a 79 (Tsunami and Sceptre). Don't use glassed ply wood to hold your tank up if you can help it. There a a ton of products out there that don't rot or hold water. Install bilge pumps while you have every thing out, it will make things alot easier. Best of luck. Jason |
