Default Calling all the Bow Rider guys

I want to put more fuel on my 19. I know some of the bow riders have tanks up front under the bow rider section. What size are your tanks under the bow? . I have my tank in it's factory location between the seats under the deck and its only 26 gallons and its just not enough fuel for the 150 I'm puttin on the back. I'm thinking that adding the tank up front will help the balance of the bigger motor on the back. If anyone has dim's on the tank I'd really like that too, as i'm building it my self.

Don, I'm soon to be a Bowrider guy, and I'll be digging around and taking a good look at the fuel tank among lots of other things, once I get the '65 home next week from Otto's place. I'll let you know what I find. What kind of 150 are you going with? I run an Evinrude 90 SPL on my 18' Maritime skiff and it seems just right, so I assume the 88 SPL you've been running is not quite enough for the 19'6" Moesly....

How many Bowrider owners are there here? Anyone know production numbers for the Moesly era?

BTW mine's an I/O so it might be different; I have no idea what to expect in terms of fuel tank(s).

I recently looked at a 68 bowrider, was an I/O converted to 200 merc outboard. Had 26 gal tank under deck, plus an 18 gal tank forward of battery under center windshield area. The 200 would push the boat to 60mph.
rockdoc...sure you want to take on another project?

Carla,

I hope you are having some luck "in the back lots of South Florida marinas". You're my back-up if Steve no-shows next week.

The 88spl pushes the boat nicely, but I'm looking for some more speed out of the old girl, because this dude in a tiger suit keeps showing up on my bow.. I'm thinking I'm going to measure the area up front and make a card board tank and see if I can get it in the spot first. Then fab it up once I figure out what the biggest tank will be that will fit.

I would determine how much weight in fuel you want up there, then do the tank based on weight, that way you don't overbuild the tank and lose space.
