Default Poll .......Your Favorite Fishing Rod

What’s your favorite fishing pole used from the boat???
even most used setup on the boat?

Weight Class
Spinning/Casting
Graphite/Composite/Glass
Guide type
Foam/Cork
Trigger grip for casting or not

This is my personal favorite .... 7' casting 10-12 lb line class, Graphite, trigger grip and foam and a whole lot of Fuji guides !! Caught everything from 10 lb Bluefish and schoolie stripers to 1 ½ lb winter flounder….
Wish I had purchased many of these blanks before they "went off into the sunset"

Wish list ... A couple stout graphite spinners (good utility rods ) and yes the wife has already told me I have waaayyy too many to begin with But we all know You can never have toooo many rods ……..
That being said also planning for some 20 or 30 lb class trolling rods

Thats just silly talk. Not only can you never have too many rods you need them in matching sets of 4.

My all round favorite for the bay is basiclly simular. A Lami flats series with 12 lb. test in both casting and spinning. Good for the schooler stripers and taylor blues. But I have handled sharks up to 50lbs on'em.

My favorite rods are:
1. The one that the clicker has just gone off, I just picket up and hooked a fish on.
2. The rod I just made that matches the reel I just bought.
3. The one I am about to build.
4. The one someone I invited fishing with me just picked up and asked who made that rod for you and I say “I Did”.

Or sets of 6!

I dont own any TLD25s but alot of guys bring one on my boat and I am really finding them indespensible. At the moment we are trolling some heavy rigs for striped bass and they come into play there. I also own a few penn 320s that are pretty versitile. Someone just gave me a Shimano "charter special". I think its a model 2000. It has a lever drag and is a sweet reel. I would pitch those 320s for this baby if I had an unlimited budget.

A Penn Special Senator 30 - 50 lb class with full Aftco rollers and a Shimano TLD25 filled to the gills with 30lb Ande mono. Never fails, marlin, dolphin, sails, wahoo, kings, grouper, snappers, tuna, you name it, this rig brings'em all in! Oh, and no fishing chair so it's all stand up!
