Default Any One Else in NJ Going?

I'm starting to make the plans for the Sea Craft party in Newport. I'm bring my boat, so Tradyer save me a spot in your yard. I'm planing on getting a room at the Best Western where Otto is staying. But was wondering if any one else in New Jersey is going? It would be nice to have a group going up the road in case of any problems. I'm going to leave Friday morning and coming back Sunday or Monday..

Finster-

I am not sure how you make reservations (ask Jason or call the Newport Chamber of COmmerce) but there is a campground for trailers right across the street from Second Beach (one of the main beaches in Newport).

Good luck-

Ed

Ed, thanks. I'll give it a whirl.
I'll get in touch with Jason as well, maybe he has some info?

Yeh, I'm pretty sure where going. I have a travel trailer I'll bring, looks like there's some nice campgrounds in the area.
Don, I recommend the trailers, comes in handy when traveling with kids. You have all their stuff at the ready and I love those every 20mi bathroom stops.

I'm looking into the RV for the future. That way I can still tow the boat

Hey PipeDreams - you ever consider doing cooler racks for Surf Buggys?

There is a VERY nice campground down the street from my house. The campground is right next to the beach, sort of in a sand dune. It looks very nice and I think it is called Sachuset beach campground??? I will double check

The campground is called "Second Beach Campground" I stopped in on Sat. and they are pretty full. It seems as though people set up camp for the entire summer but they may have some transient spots for various weekends.

Their # is (401)-846-6273
I am still working on directions and will post them with in the week.

I called Second Beach and they are over-booked. They recommended nearby Meadowlock Campground (May @ 401-846-9455) who has 6 or 7 spots in their overflow lot with power only, no septic or water... sounds like a day on a center console.

For those of you who were thinking about camping/rv'ing at Second Beach......there is an el cheapo hotel not too far from the beach (and Jason's house). I'll see if I can dig up the name and find out rates and availability. I stayed there on a whim 5 years ago and it was simple and clean. Dont know what it is like now though.
