Default 78cc inboard sea strainer location

just finished installing 454 with a borg warner tranny now trying to find room for sea strainer room is very tight looking for suggestions of were other have it mounted. pictures would be helpful if possible. thanks Jim

My perko strainer is located in the hatch directly in front of the engine on the starboard side.
In order free up bilge space I plan on eventually upgrading to an external hull mount Groco sea strainer. Lots of boats use these external strainers with great success. On the 31 bertram site there is a good explanation on how to install one.

You can see the external strainer on a 23 inboard that just sold on Ebay:

thanks deep all the larger boats that I've had use the external then a sea strainer for the finer stuff that gets by the grates of the external
