Default 2002 21 seacraft. Where's the wood?

Does this hull have any wood? Transom, stringers, deck coring, cap coring?

No it doesn't have any wood anywhere at least my 2003 21' doesn't. I installed a hatch in the livewell lid and the coring was a real dense light green material. For the fun of it I put the cut piece in a bucket of water for a while and it did not absorb any water at all. Do you have a 21' or interested in buying one. I love mine. Just repowered with a Yamaha 200 in-line 4 cyl engine. Been very happy with it over the old 200 Merc EFI.

Default 21

Bj- you are not finding the 200 yammie 4stroke too heavy for your 21? I went with an Etec because of weight concerns

PJ - The inline 4 f200 is pretty light for a 4 stroke . . . 489lb for the 25" shaft.

489# that's dry weight for the 25" Yamaha, no prop. The 25" 200 etec is 433#, I guess no prop....however there is the cost of 2-stroke oil with the etec. And the Yamaha recommends 89 octane versus 87 for the etec. Always something when comparing outboards!!!

I have a new to me 21. Just wondering if I will have any concerns down the road with wood. In good condition. Just needs some cleaning polishing and possibly new cushions, bolsters, and new t top material.

Pair of Jacks, No I have not had any problem with the extra weight of the Yamaha 200. The scuppers drain fine and to me their is not a noticeable difference in the waterline. I had a 200 Merc EFI on their that I replaced and this engine is probably only 60 lbs more than it. Not enough to matter. So far I love the engine. It is a great fit although I wish I had a little more top end. It tops out at 42-43 mph. My most efficient cruising speed is around 25 mph at 3.8 mpg but realistically I am averaging 3.0 mpg in a day of running and fishing.
