Default Kittery, ME

I will probably be out there this weekend. There is bait in the water, sea turtles and even those goofy sunfish out there. There should be a few stripers and cod, too. Water was 62F this morning at the Navy base.

Struck out today. 20 knot breeze. tried cod fishing but I ran into some 4 foot chop and got beat up at idle, so dragged hogys in the Piscataqua. No dice. I was out there almost alone.

I was almost there. I was flogging the jetty by Odiorne. I guess I should have motored thru the marina. Would have been nicer, too. Shelter from the 20kt breeze would have been nice.

There is herring in the river, I figured with the water at 60 F, I would have luck. Wrong location I guess.

Murray Rock was NOT the place to be. Steep 4 footers in a 20 foot boat = no fun. I got airborne at 6 knots!

A guy was pulling snapper blues on a Tsabiki rig in the sound basin today. 4 at a time, I am told. I saw him fishing but had to leave before I saw the action. Nothing hitting a double wide hogy this evening when casting (hurling) from shore. Gulls apparently don't like the local squid- they drop them on the tarmac, but the hornets love it. Imagine that!

Peanut bunker at PSNY again, but nothing hitting it. Water is still 58F.

Tuna bite is on by Portland, I am told, and I have seen pics of a few 1000+ fish caught this week. But I don't know where, and I don't have that gear.
