Default 23 cc twin hpdi 200 , or single 225 four stroke

can i get some input from anyone who has run a 23 cc with twins , i am thinking of selling my 23 with 225 four stroke and getting another 23 cc with twin 200 hpdi. i have had two 23 cc with single outboard one on the notch and one with a nice bracket. I have always wanted one that would scream. I know i am giving up considerable economy , that aside i would like some input and opinions on the set up and anybody that has had experience with the 2001 200 hpdi. The hull in question is actually a 78 23 tsunami that was rebuilt into a cc, the owner has moved fuel tanks forward and raised floor (laid another coosa floor on top of existing) changed scuppers to drain out the back and says it self bails very well and is not wet? I would appreciate you guys opinions.

I recently had Bob Birdsall (Birdsall Marine) tell me "Leave the single big motor on there." I have not run one with twins and he was referring to a bracketed boat.

I think a single 200hpdi would be a nice combo . . . better fuel economy than the F225 Yamaha.

As far as the motor, I had the exact one one a Cape Horn and loved it. Great on gas, sipped oil, and plenty of power. My dream Seacraft would have two 200 hpdi on a Hermco bracket.
Now as far as the floor, I would be worried about it not self bailing with only the floor being raised 1" at the most. I had an 84' with a bracket and raised the floor about 4" and it just would self bail, full of gas, 50gal livewell and 3-4 guys, ice, etc... Now at the dock it may be fine. My old one had about 3" from the scuppers to waterline at the dock.

I sold my twins and going to repower with a 250+ 4s. Looking into a used verado 275 or I am going to bite the bullet and get a new 300 Zuke. I found my 225 johnsons on a Stainless Marine bracket made the boat way too stern heavy. It was a rocket in tight chop, but when swells got spaced out if was a rough ride. Anything under 3100 rpm the boat would fall off plane. I have over sized tabs and that didn't help much either. I would stay with a single. My experience the hull gets squirrely over 50mph. My fishing conditions rarely allowed me to justify hauling ass.
