Google Sketchup (.skp) of a Seacraft21.
I have been daydreaming about consoles, doghouses, transom conversions, and instead of making (fiberglass) sawdust, I have been messing around on the computer.
I watched about 30 mins worth of training videos and then started playing with google's free sketchup app. I think I am going to do all my leaning posts, consoles, etc in sketchup now, very easy to use. http://sketchup.google.com/ PM me if you want me to email you a copy of the .skp file or any of the steps... I can't figure out how to add the .skp file to this post. Does anyone have schematics for a 23SC or a 20SF? Even better if you can get these into .skp so I don't have to give them the "crappy" treament. Has anyone put the hermco brackets into sketchup? WHAT I STARTED WITH: DONE1 (Kind of seacrafty looking; to make pics I "exported" from my .skp model) DONE2 (VDH highlighted in RED and <font color="yellow"> YELLOW)) DONE3 (Look at that handsome transom... also Kind of seacrafty looking) PROCESS (As my wife pointed out... even my virtual reality yard is filled with seacraft crap!) : |

The stern view looks like a carolina boat with some deadrise.

Those images are very cool.
I went the low tech direction. I mocked my leaning post out of cardboard and then put it in the boat and walked around it tell it looked and fit right. Not pretty, but it worked. |
