Default Can someone explain this mess?

I understand there are two bilges and two pumps for tanks on the boat at least thats what they look like but I don't quite understand what the pipe running from the back of the boat to the bottom through the hull is... Can someone please explain?

Just two things right off the bat before someone else jumps in...

Change that red pvc valve to a real brass seacock.

Change that black corrugated hose to something better, it is well documented that hose is garbage.

how hard would it be to change the valve to a brass one?

And does anything else look like it doesn't look right or should be replaced?

Agree that it does look like it's going to a bait tank. The whole thing is a mess like you said and IMHO it all should be replaced or at least cleaned up. You may need both those bilge pumps if that plastic valve goes. That kinda valve is OK to use above the water line however you want a seacock like the one below for your thru hull.

Seriously, fix the thru hull to true seacock asap. Looks to me like....blue pump pumps the cavity (bait well?) out, white fitting to plastic valve was meant to gravity fill this well, two large pumps are bilge pumps, in front is a switch, to right is trim tab pump, to left is Racor fuel filter/water seperator, in front is washdown pump

For sure, without a doubt!!! And just to let you know plastic "tie wraps" are like $2.00 for a bag of 100. Looks like you could use some 4" and 7" ones to clean up the mess.

i had that black corrugated tube when i got my boat. it pumps water right back into the boat when it get s a crack in it. tie wraps are extremely cheap. keep some spares on the boat too., you never know when you may have to rig something to get home. i use them for everything. make a temp shelter from the sun with those and a tarp from t-top to bow rail.

Also consider consider rearranging the whole thing so the layout is more efficient. Why have a mile of hose whne there is mounting space near the destination. It will also make it easier to troubleshoot.

Check out the link below. This guy has some very good info and shows you how to properly install a seacock.
