Default West End Hotels

I normally spend time on Grand Cay and Foxtown when I go to the Bahamas, but I am putting together a weekend trip to West End for late May. I have found 3 places to stay. Old Bahama Bay, Blue Marlin Cove, and Bootle Bay Fishing lodge. The first 2 places are a bit higher class than I need for a weekend of fishing and with the resort atmosphere also comes a large pricetag. Bootle Bay seems like the proper type of place for my needs but it is running $180 a night. This looks like where I will go unless I can find another place that is not as costly.

Now for the questions, does anyone know of a place at West End that I can stay? I am just looking for a room and a couple of beds. Nothing fancy. Has anyone stayed at Bootle Bay? If so, any thoughts or feedback on this one?

I've stayed in Bootle Bay and have never had a complaint, is great! Where are you leaving from? Do you have any other boats crossing with you?

I have 1 or 2 other boats that may make the crossing with me but nothing firm on them yet. I hope the others will go, but I don't mind running alone. Actually, this is a much shorter ride than my normal crossing.

I will leave from St Lucie inlet in Stuart. If you, or anyone else would like to make the crossing with me you are welcome to come along.

Go with Bootle Bay. You won't be disappointed. If you go during the week, their prices are negotiable. Just call them on the phone. We got a 1 BR cottage for two nights for only $150 per night three years ago. I think the listed rate back then was $225. We stayed there on a Tue and Wed night, not the weekend, and it was fantastic.

Thanks,
I went with Bootle Bay. We got 2 suites for the trip. It looks like we are all set.

If anyone decides they want to make the crossing with us just let me know. I will try to head out 5-21 before sun up and return the afternoon of 5-24. We will be heading out of St. Lucie inlet. All are welcome to tag along. I normally only run 23-25 knots and plan on flat seas... Lets hope that part of the plan works out.
