Fuel issue 200 yamaha ox66
Anyone know of a fuel issue with a 200 ox66? New filters, new low pressure pumps, new hoses, tank, etc. Engine only got up to 5200 on first sea trial, raised engine, still only 5200, 19" prop, noticed the fuel is being sucked out of the filter on the engine, ran from a separate tank and hose, still same issue. Any ideas?

Re: Fuel issue 200 yamaha ox66
This post is one of a few available on the vst filter clogging. Usually causes surging. Clean it up and surging and loss of power goes away.

thanks for the reply, ended up replacing that filter and the O2 sensor, the poppet valve was clogged, replaced the O2, didn't know how old it was, would rather spend $300 than $6000.

Re: Fuel issue 200 yamaha ox66
You reminded me that the first time I cleaned the VST filter the backpressure regulator valve screen was clogged with e10 debris also. Cleaning out the screen for the backpressure valve was essential to smooth operation. The 10 micron filter is a must with these engines.
