American Marine made most Sceptre windshields. I am working with them to purchase a new gasket set for my windshield. I have removed it from the boat and removed all glass from the frames. I cleaned all old gaskets from the frame. Used a razor scraper and WD-40 to clean the frame and remove major pits and ozidation. I am going to clean the frame with some light phosphoric acid and 2000grit Wet Paper. I have an anoziding company set up to look at it after it is cleaned and see if I need to have it "reanodized" as I do not completely understand this process or get clear answers. My frame was in pretty bad shape but it is now looking good. You can PM me and I can send you pics and details on the products I am using.

I got all the gaskets and the hardware from American also. Actually waiting on the two side panels then i plan installing all at once. My on questions which may sound dumb but do i bet the glass into the fram first with the silicon and then stuff the gaskets around. Or do the gaskets and everything go on at the same time.

I also got all my weatherstripping for my 1974 23 Tsunami restoration from American marine.
I spoke to them last week and they said that they use silicone,to bed the glass. He recommended using a good quality Gen Elec or Dow clear silicone, bedding the glass in first, then installing the weatherstripping.

I made a tool for inserting the weatherstrip,by taking an 1-1/2 flexible putty knife, and rounding the corners a little bit, just to break the sharpness.
It works perfect, just slide it behind the front edge of the rubber, and push, and slide along. It pushes the backside of the rubber into the frames channel, and behind the glass.
