Default oil leak ?

I have an oil/fluid leak under the cavitation plate. 1995 mercury 150. there are 2 holes just under the cavitation plate.It looks like water intakes.theres oil seaping out of the forward one.The motor stays tilted up & has been like this.Never noticed it before.Any ideads ? Yup. You need to replace your shift-shaft seal or upper driveshaft seal, or both. (I'm betting on the shift-shaft seal) [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Huh? UPPER [img]/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] I hope it's the Bottom one! I'll check it out soon.I'm fix'n to replace the lower fluid & water pump.Just could'nt see where it would come from.

I had a classic 50 merc,I also had it tilted and expected the worst when I saw oil on the ground.BUT thank God my auto oiler was bad,so the oil just flowed free out the bottom.something to check,
