It is a bit of a haul from Bass river but if the weather cooperates it can be done you may be tuckered out before you get to Newport however.

Newport is about 15 miles from Cuttyhunk or 10 if you want to tuck into the 3rd beach anchorage grounds.

Bass river is a haul. You could duck inside Buzzards Bay up near Falmouth and avoid some of the SW. High is at 6am so it's would atack up good if it blows SW

John,
Ok well if I have to use that "gas hog" of mine to deliver beer to the gang I will , but thinking about it I have a feeling there just might be another Scout owner to help me there also.....

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT THERE WILL BE A NEW ENGLAND GET TOGETHER? I'D LIKE TO JOIN IN IF POSSIBLE. ANY IDEAS AS TO WHICH HOTELS WE MIGHT TRY TO BOOK BEFORE "SEASON" BEGINS? HOW CAN I HELP TO MAKE IT HAPPEN? TONY

100% chance of it hapening. I am looking forward to meeting all who can make it. The issue with the hotels is $. The Jazz festival generates a decent shore crowd and the local hotels jack the prices up. Since hopes are we will be spending time on the water and I can guaratee secure storage for 10 boats, please contact me on this so I am not overwhelmed, you need not stay in Newport.

Try hotels in Middletown, or Portsmouth Rhode Island.

Again those who are planing on keeping a boat in my yard please E-mail me with aprox trailer lenth so I can assure a spot.
