Default kickers-o/b

I don't mean the gals up on the stage.I mean The one's that you put on the stern. What's the RIGHT size for a 20 & 23' seacraft. To small & you'll blow it up, to big-lots of weight.Your 10 miles offshore,
and don't tell me sea tow. Because up here their
to far away to do any good, You'll end up in spain before you see them. hhhhhhelp!

Steve

For what its worth....

The boat I purchased, a 23, had on it before I took ownership a 25 hp kicker. Was told it was used for backup but also to troll with.
I would assume that with a boat in this size range you would want at a minimum of 20 hp...otherwise your boat would most likely be going sideways instead of forward and like you said you would probably burn the thing up after using it. I personally cant see a 15 hp being enough hp on a 23.....but I guess it would be better than nothing...
