Default Install 1 5/8" raw water hose inaccessible valve

Whew !

Not a SeaCraft related question - but you guys could probably help. My brother has a 29' Wellcraft Coastal and the raw water filter for his AC took a sh*t. In a horrible location ! Definitely put in before the deck was installed - deep down and very difficult to access.

We cannot get the new rasa water hose back on the thru hull as its just too far down - and the hose is TIGHT - a bad combination. No leverage at all.

Any tricks you guys can provide. We tried hot water and Dawn - - today we're going to try boiling water and really getting the hose soft - we're not using wired hose as that is impossible.

Is there a way to hold the hose with a tool or 'jig' higher up while pushing hose on barb ?

Thx

Heat Gun, not hot water.
You might have to take out the valve from the outside the hull since it is not under pressure vs working from inside ?

Heat gun huh ?

Removing valve - not a terrible idea although a) getting to the vale would be hell ! And, that would mean taking the boat out which we're trying to avoid.

This is in the most ridiculous location. This project has been hell. Even removing the water filter was tough as it was mounted so low down in the bilge area and the access holes only allow for shoulders and arms.

Speaking as a boatyard mechanic for the past 14 years, welcome to my world.

One of the first things I was taught when I started working on boats was:
You can see it, or you can touch it... but never at the same time.

Oh yeah, definitely heat gun, and maybe a pair of these:

Or these:

Mostly for the getting off, as the teeth will tear up the new hose a bit.

My brother, a psycho-path, got the hose on in heatwave conditions today - with the heat gun and a lot of blood, sweat! and tears. He had to additionally dismantle an access door frame, inverter, batteries etc to get an inch or two additional reach - that, and the heat gun ( great idea - thx ).

Incredibly STOOPID! installation with no thought of maintenance. EZ to see how the mech who winterized the boat did not do this properly - to bleed the plastic water filter housing you have to be a contortionist.

If posdible, Wrap the pipe with a little duct tape first
