Default Impeller change 383 Stroker

Has anyone out there done a raw water impeller change on a Mercruiser 383 stroker engine? If so any tips or tricks? FYI it has a serpentine belt and it looks like you have to take the pump off .

Thanks,

All Bravo drives, like the Volvos, have engine mounted raw water pumps. Alphas have outdrive mounted raw water pumps. I don't know how to change the Merc Bravo raw water impeller; mine is a crankshaft mounted Johnson pump - I don't know how to change the Merc Bravo raw water impeller.

Just a thought, have you checked the raw water intake??? Up here we have problems with stuff growing in the intakes.

I have no knowledge. But I have factory manuals. But I bet you do too. If not, let me know.

I finally found my manuals. They don't cover the 383, but they cover the 305-377 CID engines. I suspect it is the same but I don't know for sure. It does cover the 350 MAG MPI.

I think I have a gen ? cool fuel? Mine looks like this

Pretty much you have to detension the serpentine belt and pull the whole pump. It looks like the procedure is pretty similar, brass versus composite housing.

my manual goes from 0M300000-1A299999

If you know which housing you have I can scan pages. I suspect your engine and mine would be the same.
