Default New Toys!!!

Just got my new Garmin 7610xsv installed and did a shakedown run Sunday afternoon.
Below are some pics of my helm and screen shots from the new unit. Along with the MFD I added a Garmin fuel management module, XHD 18 raydome and the SideVu, DownVu, traditional Chirp ducer.

Sweet systems man!! Moose, where do you run your boat? Just curious how far you have taken the boat to fish?

I live in Central Florida and fish East / West coast almost every weekend. I run to the Bahamas several times a summer and am throwing around the idea of diving the middle grounds when grouper season opens in july. From Tarpon Springs the first of the reef is about 85 miles. Based on my previous trips to the Bahamas I have the fuel economy to make the trip but may have to bring a few extra gallons in case the weather picks up unexpectedly. I know its a stretch but I was curious if you had made any trips like that.

This old sled has been to the Grounds a time or two dozen with the last owner. Here is a pic of her when she was powered by a less efficient two-smoker.

Believe it or not I don't make too many trips beyond 50-60 nautical. I'm blessed with some pretty good stuff inside of the grounds and if I want to go to the Grounds I hitch a ride on my friends commercial sled. Grounds are a long way to go for a couple of grouper..... especially when there are plenty of the same before you get there.

Even with a 140 gallon tank we still had to bring a dozen gas cans on a grounds trip. I don't think you could pour fuel over the side faster than it could burn it.

At least the cowl would make a good lifeboat.
