Default seafari rebuild!!

well if it wasnt for this site i wouldnt be attempting to fix my 1969 20' seacraft seafari.Well there is pretty much nothing left but the fiberglass. In a couple of weeks after i sand the hull down ,i would like to rebuild my transom which is for an i/o.I am going to convert to a good flotation bracket.Well what i was wondering was can anyone write me a list of everything i need to do the job, including the type of glass and how much im gonna need.and maybe some tools to.Any kind of help would be appreciated.thanks .Ill try to get some pics of the progress up soon.thanks

In addition to the great folks and info here I would also reccommend checking out:

http://continuouswave.com/

and

http://www.classicmako.com/

two other great sites with lots of similar projects and plenty of expert opinions. Spend hours using that search function - everything you need to know is a click away. Best of Luck!

BTW my cousin also has a 69 seafari project. Transom close is complete, he's at the gelcoat stage.

The 1966 bowrider which we just restored, it's stringers are just as you described, hallow & sturdy. They were originally built this way, no wood, no foam. Can't say for sure on the 69, but maybe the same.

I'm in the process of doing one now. It's close to being splashed. In a few weeks . . . it'll be a Commercial Salmon boat .

Ditto for my '69. Hollow and sturdy.
