Finally got the Honda 4 stroke!
After all these years, I finally got the Honda 4 stroke. She puts out 140 HP at 6300 RPM's, has 16-Valve SOHC i-VTEC® and multi-point fuel injection.
Unfortunately, it won't hang on the transom of the 23CC, but in the driveway. Ironically, this 40 MPG sweetheart costs the same almost to the penny that the Honda 225 4 stroke outboard that I covet so much. Priorities suck!

Re: Finally got the Honda 4 stroke!
Otto-
I envy you! With the price of fuel, I have grown to really dislike my Chevy Silverado and really love Honda Civics! Trouble is, the Chevy is paid for...it's hard to justify buying another car to save a few bucks at the pump! Good luck with it, we owned and Accord for years, no wonder the American auto industry is in trouble, that car didn't so much as fart once in all the time we owned it and NEVER had anything wrong with it, same for my Tacoma pickup too. |

Re: Finally got the Honda 4 stroke!
Hooper,
I'm in the same boat as you (no pun intended ). My 2000 F150 is paid for and only has 69K on it, so it makes no sense to trade it in for something more fuel efficient at this time. Plus, a Civic sure as hell ain't gonna tow a 23-footer very well, nor will the wife's Saab wagon. Otto, I'd be interested to hear your impressions of the new Civic. It's a really nice looking car and I've read some good things about them so far. |

Re: Finally got the Honda 4 stroke!
Naturally, since this new Civic gets twice the MPG as my wife's old GMC AWD Safari, she now drives it twice as much. She loves it, but would love anything new that came to her free....
I like everything about it: 40 MPG, plenty of power, great handling, nice ride, comfort, back seats have lots of room for my 5'9" teenager. I can even fit if I stretch before getting in and out. The trunk is huge and the rear seat folds down for snow boards, skis, etc. My only thing is at 6'1", I can't get my left foot comfortable as the foot brace is too close. But at $17,600 for the LX, I consider it a bargain. Looks cool too... I have a 2004 Yukon XL for towing machinery, boats and plowing. It's a company truck and I love it, but am considering trading it and my 95 E320 for an Accord and then buy a "beater" plow truck for towing. We'll see...
