Default Seacraft Shootout Results

Well with 25 Knot winds and 6 to 8 ft seas in the ocean on friday night the some faces at the captains meeting were looking a little concerned about holding the tournament on Saturday-
The forecast for saturday though called for small craft warnings to come down and for the winds to go light by saturday afternoon (by what time saturday afternoon?)
Sooo- we agreed to modify the start and weigh in times to lines in at 0900 and be at the weigh station by five. (after which i think we should have left the starting time alone.
Anyways after a rough fairly start for most of the morning- rockfish and seacraft type of weather, the fishing was very tough but the tournament went off with fewer boats than expected but none the less a good time. (i really couldnt blame the no shows- the wind was really howling and it was frigid cold on friday evening). The wind and water laid down in the afternoon to lake like conditions which was nice for the run back in as well. Thanx again to Captain Brad for his donations to the prize package, the guys were really stoked and will be sending pictures ) and to "Turkey Feeder" superbowl rigging buckets- these things are really nice.

Now to the results-
1st Place - "Donna Sea" 30 pounds and 1 ounce
2nd place- "Mega Bite" 15 pounds and 8 ounces
3rd Place- "Sea Biscuit" (My boats twin sister)
4th place- "Miles Offshore" (weight - too embarressing to post)

heres some pix- Donna Seas crew and winning fish-

Second place winners "Team Mega-Bite"

And lastly "Team "Miles Offshores" only decent fish for the day (Dink) that had to be released because he was a slot fish. you can see how much it had calmed down by near dark !

Thanx again guys- I had fun and hope y'all did too !!
Craig

Despite the sea & weather conditions, it appears everyone had a great SeaCraft get together. Nice job Craig and look forward to more pictures.....

Glad that you guys had a good time, at least you did not
have snow and ice on your motors, like Capt. Chucks picture.
Craig, tournaments are alot of work. The same
amount of effort big or small, with little thanks.
Great job !!
See ya, Ken
