Default Connecticut get together?

Is there any interest in a Ct get together this summer? I have been checking this site for three years now and I feel I know alot of you but have never met face to face. I don't often post because I am logged on at work. Great site I love all the info and pesonalities.

Anyway, I am in Westbrook and can probably squeeze 4 more boats at my dock with some rafting. There is a marina with launch right down the street and great fishing around the area, and Duck Island is right outside the harbor, any ideas? Thanks guys.

Sure! I'll trailer from Norwalk to Westbrook, How is the fluke run up by you? I just moved from Stamford to Wilton, CT so I have to learn new fishing grounds around the Norwalk Islands. I also plan on going to Newport to see Jason and the guys during JazzFest on Aug 12th. Either way we should get some guys together and share our CSC big fish secrets. Jim.

It's about time somebody responded, I was beginning to feel rejected. All kidding aside the fluke run is pretty good around June and produces fairly consistent throughout the summer. With the NY regs changing this year I hope more of those doormats will come deeper into the sound. I'll be glad to share some of my techniques.

Since you are the first to respond what do you think would be a good weekend? I am also going to try and attend the Jazzfest get together so we will keep it away from that weekend. Any suggestions from you or the rest of the guys would be appreciated. Thanks for responding.

I'd be up for a little get together.I launch at Old Saybrook and sometimes Clinton, in fact I might try to slip or rack down that way if I can find a place.
First, I have to get working on repairing my bottom the insurance co sent the check the other day, so I have to order some glass/resin and find a warm place to do it.
Pretty much any time is good with me, and I would like to learn some flukin spots out that way.I've had some good striper trips out there, but not much on the fluke.I would say head across to the north shore of L.I. but I haven't seen what they set up for regs next year - is it worse than last?

Hey Brian, How does June sound? We can track the run and pick a weekend when the currents are in our favor. What's best Ebb/ Flood? (both I hope). Of course It's bound to be windy the days we pick. You mentioned you have a dock, if not I will launch. We have to confirm our date/s by mid May so I can ensure I am off. Man, I cant wait to fish this spring. I'm counting the days until trout season opens then turkey season, then the SeaCraft. The boat will be sleeping in New Haven until then so if you hear of fish around you better let me know! Early June would be better. I am a teacher and the end of the school year becomes very hectic, also the local shark tourneys are at the end of June. I do have a dock and I could probably squeeze 3 or 4 boats on it for the weekend, the only problem is hight you need to be able to get under the singing bridge near Bill's Seafood. There is about 4-5 feet under it at high tide, boats with T tops or Hard tops would have to play the tide. My 20 SF fits any time and my 25 Whitewater cuddy needs to fold the Bimini down at high tide, not sure about a Seafari of Scepter with windsheild height. I am open to suggestions on dates. I guess we need to watch the Fluke run.

PS Anybody going to the Fishing show this weekend at the Expo?

Sounds like a plan. I just got the check from the insurance co so now I can get crankin on the repair.
Hey Brian, are you in that Dick's/Beechnut marina? That's one I was considering - I should have no problems with the bridge.
Anyway - hurry spring

June 4th 2005: 1NM south of Kelsey Pt
Sunrise 05:18
Flood 06:44
Slack 09:27
Ebb 11:21
Sunset 20:15
New moon on the 6th
Spring Tide Currents up to 2 kts.
The day before or after is good too. If the fish are there, I'll be stealing space on your dock whenever I can! Nice day today (Feb 15th) I need to fish bad. Checked under the boat cover and saw some bucktails hanging off the console and it smells like fish under there. I may go to the Expo on friday, not dealing with the crowd on Sat though. Take care, Jim.

Billybob; I have water access from my house which is on the Patchouge river, Beach nut is on the Menunketesuk river. The two join up at the mouth into Westbrook. To get to my dock you would need to go under the singing bridge which is a little lower than the bridge near Beach nut.

Jim; Where did you get that info, it looks very specific. Nice.

That day looks good from here but who knows about the weather and the fish, lets pencil it in. Any othe CT or NE Seacraft guys out there, all are welcome.

I live in Northern NJ and just purchased a 1977 23' Seacraft CC. It has some nice elecronics and twin 150's on it. However, it needs some real TLC (such as reupholstry and the like).

I would love to get some ideas and see what other people have donw with their boats.

Is this invite extended to NJ SeaCrft owners or should I be looking elsewhere?
