Hurricane Ignacio
Alrighty then...
I came down to do a bit of fishing here on the East Cape of Baja and am now stuck here! I am at an internet cafe in the small town of Los Barriles and the road has been thoroughly washed out both north and south of town (can't get back to Cabo or north to La Paz). Local estimates put the rain stopping in about two days and about five more days to get the road passable On a more possitive note, we caught 13 species of fish on fly before the storm arrived including a day offshore that yielded over 60 (SIXTY) tuna on fly in four hours between two people (football sized yellowfin and skipjack). Managed roosterfish from the beach in addition to three other kinds of jacks and ...get this...BONEFISH in Baja! Anyhow, I was supposed to fly home yesterday but 110mph winds shut the airport down and now the routine is cerveza followed by beer chased by another cerveza. Watching the 15ft surf is only entertaining for so long... Keep posting interesting stories, I find them fun to read when the electricity is occasionally on. Happy transom jobs/ mark |

Re: Hurricane Ignacio
er...um...ah, well, Trayder is actually correct, this is a work trip and some good fish are now on film. My concern now is making it home in time to catch my flight to Belize where I will be "at the office" for several weeks.
More rain last night though, so it looks like I'll have to find some other site to get a bit of sympathy at You all have a good day/ mark |
