totally agree robert, only i would be in for the vrod version which takes weight to a little over 600 lbs. my current 250 vrod is 670 lbs as stated.
i think the AMS would be worth the extra 60 lbs. also, phase 3 was promised this year. could be the current 350 like you have now be based off the new V8 platform... either way, plan is to run the current 250 until the time comes..

Awesome input. I picked up a loaner prop today. Starting with a rev 4 19 pitch. We will see. I am mainly wanting better economy than the old OX 66.

Took her out today as a shake down. Motor was too deep. Going to raise her up on Saturday. Go try again on Sunday. Just testing today we saw 39 kts at 5,300 rpm. Get the motor height right and I think the 19p rev 4 will be pretty close.

ah, the bloody duck. went there in 1980, when I first moved to Florida. Got to be friends with one of the girls, but then met my second wife and decided it wouldn't be a good idea to keep going there. Going outside to the restroom was always an adventure.

6200-6300 seems to be the recommended sweet spot for the Vrod crowd and unless she is way too deep I don't see you gaining 900 rpms. You're on the right road though as motor height needs to right first. The only time it will differ is if you go to a different diameter prop or to a 3 blade which I wouldn't recommend.

The Rev 4 is a great prop for bracketed hulls as the extra lift really helps counteract the reduction in running surface. Keep us updated.

bmajvi-Our family's Morgan sailboat was at the Lake Park Marina. We hauled the boat out at Cracker Boy where I was first introduced to sanding bottom paint with a cheap 3m breather mask....Spencer's was uptown!

yep......I see 41 knots with my 250 Vrod. we're missing 1000 turns here somewhere. get the turns we should be seeing aleast 46-47 knots.

We got an injector fault. Took it in, one of the pigtails was chaffed causing the injectors to all pulse at 100%. Going to pick it up tomorrow. That was the issue with the rpm, not the prop and height. Was down a cylinder, and the others were super rich. Thursday I'll get to try again.
