A buddy of mine has the wing panels on his Silverhawk made out of vinyl and they work really well. Most of the time they are rolled up and stored under the console, but when you do put them up, they are clear enough to see through pretty well.

If you are trying to evade weather, get this thing and be somewhat comfortable:

I have the exact pilot house on my 1969, 27'. The pilot house is awesome, It was definately from a Shamrock, but they no longer make it according to the Shamrock dealer. The Pilot House is Awesome, and I bought it on the side of the road for 400 bucks. It fits great on a 27, and I think it will be a little tight on the 23, but not bad. The guy I bought it from said it came off of a 20' Shamrock.

Good Luck

Kernel - welcome to the site. Do you happen to have pictures of a 1969 27? I was under the impression that the only 27-foot SC made back then was a flybridge until they introduced the 27 CC in the late 70s/early 80s.

Here's another pilot house. I'm not wild about the rear entry , but that design offers lots of protection from the elements.

When I was in Nam we had a Pilot house like that on the "Spook Boats" but those rod holders were "Real Rocket Launchers" called "Hedge Hogs"
