Re: Making progress, feeling stupid...
Thanks for the comments. I went to the 2002 Atlantic City Boat show and made notes of all of the features of the new 23 Classic and was determined to do my best to duplicate it, but with my choice of power and electronics. So far so good.
I appreciate the continued support.

Re: Making progress, feeling better
Otto ...they did do a nice job on that hull ... betcha feeling good about it now !!
Question about the VC ... Did they go with that since your keepin her on the trailer and instead of putting Imron on the bottom?? thats not a commonly used "antifouling" paint around here (I believe sailboats use it for racing bottoms).... Quote:
Hammer's ... I think made us all drool Mark's ... Just the teaser pics put some of us over the edge .... Hope to see it this spring Trayders ... I remember a "burban" full of us going to look at it as Scott(Viking marine) was riggin up the engine ... The boat wasnt even finished and there was SeaCraft envy !! Re: Making progress, feeling better
Scott,
Thanks. Tom and I had originally put on the VC-17 due to it's fresh water anti-fouling ability, contains Teflon so the boat will go "really fast" and is white, which is the look I wanted. Although intended as a trailer boat, It gives me the option of leaving her in the the water for a week at a time and still have easy clean up. We'll see about that...

Re: Making progress, feeling better
Hey Otto.. How are you going to get that nasty looking blemish out of the side? Seeing that you paid to have someone do the work, I'd stop payment till they fix it. It's a shame. .boat looks great other then that blemish...

Re: Making progress, feeling better
Otto ... Sounds like it will work perfect for your application . Thats probably a great choice for the rigors of on and off a trailer too ...
I bet when you do let her sit in the water for a bit any slime would wash right off since its got the Teflon in it. I see it is recommended for the lakes or areas of low fouling …again looks like a good alternative to a re-gel coat job. One of the restorers in the area did spray the bilge of a 23 with it … Don’t remember why he used that over some of the other stuff out there …. Looked real nice …got fancy and fleck coated it Is the final VC finish on your boat high gloss ?? |

Re: Color Code Please
Otto:
The paint job looks great. It looks about the shade of blue that was at one time many years ago on my 20. Would you mind giving up the paint type & code? |

Re: Making progress, feeling better
Scott,
The final finish on the white VC-17 is more of a semi-gloss. It will finish better, but it's so hard that you'd have to work REALLY hard.
