Bones led the parade out the inlet on day one in his sweet 20. With big seas and no furry hat. On purpose. Because he can and does. The sight of her stern makes me think about how much farther I need to go. These gatherings are nothing if not great seminars on things. Like buddy bearings for example...and roller trailers. |

Looks like the guys with the 25's were busy promoting the breed I have a feeling that a certain brother of ours in the north east will be drinking the kool aid soon. Looks like a great time you all had!

Its outstanding kool aid, also very addictive!
A while back, I had a conversation with Seafari25, who has had more 25 experience than all of us put together. His comment was "The boat LIKES it rough. The rougher it gets the better it likes it." I was a bit skeptical, but no longer. |

Denny sent me some pics. Here are some of them:
Following Sea Head Sea I had a blast running through that slop. I don't think I'd want to do it for two + hours crossing the gulfstream, but it was fun for a short thrill ride. Connor's quite the cowboy out in that mess. I think I need a little more wheel time before I'm ready to go more than about 25 mph in 4-6 footers. We got some air, but I kept the trim tabs deployed to keep from launching too much. The ride in a following sea is sweet, though. 30 mph+ and no bad habits. Raise the tabs and let her run. Dave

Dave, I was really impressed with how flat your boat ran. How much tab did you have (1) going out and (2) coming in??
Cowboy, shmowboy, balony. The boat told me to do it and I'm pretty sure I never hit 25 on the way out. You are right about wheel time. The 25 handles different from anything I've driven before. This one took several hours before I began to see how to drive the boat when its rough. |

You may not have hit 25, but I think you were close. I didn't spend much time looking at the gps, but I looked down at one point and was doing 22, and you were walking away from us. Quote:

Both boats seem to produce a bunch of very tormented looking spray when they are running flat in these conditions. I don't remember other boats looking like this. ''
Anybody got any opinion on this and/or why they do that? Interesting aside: my fore deck was bone dry when we got back, only a tiny bit of scattered salt on the windshield. |

She is a dancer, and a fine one at that. The secret may be in the custom tabs.
I really believe Carl was just a bit beyond his time. Conner, loved the Pirou. Dave better keep an eye on it. Last edited by gofastsandman; 05-03-2013 at 07:36 AM. |
