Re: Long Point April 11-12
Hey Todd,
I`m just putting her back together. If I can pull it off, you can fish with me. In fact, I`d be honored. I don`t have a site and need a piece of sand. She`s running tight n right, just gotta do some screwing and gluing. Sandy |

Pin Fish traps at Long Point
I just picked up a couple pin fish traps. Problem is I don't know how to use them properly. Growing up on the East Coast of Florida, I always used gold hook rigs and sabikis.
Can somone explain clearly and succinctly how to use these things?

Re: Pin Fish traps at Long Point
Just put something pinfish eat in it - I just open a can of jack mack stand it up lower it to the bottom and bump it and turn the can over.
Doodlebug called awhile ago and he has one too so really only 1 of yours is needed- they don't pack well I just got done washing mine - which actually more resembled yard work in the beginning - we plan on loading tonight and heading out about 5 according to Susan, which means 6:30 probably )

Dixon,
Do I lower it to the bottom outside the inlet by the jetty?

Re: Pin Fish traps at Long Point
No on a grass flat next to the camp ground 3 to 4 feet of water, grass is the key - I'll find a sweet spot, I'll be there Fri AM
I think I have some tough squid like stuff for the kids to use for them as well

Re: Pin Fish traps at Long Point
Sardines work the best in the traps. just break about ten in half and you'll load it up.
