Love this thread! The boat is looking great and it helps keep me motivated on moving forward with mine. I cant wait to see the finished product! What type of paint are you going to be using topside, hull, and bottom? I dont want bottom paint on mine and want something that will hold up for a week or so in the water. I was told imron would be fine but have my doubts...

Chuck's right, Signature Finish is about the only urethane I know of that will hold up below the waterline. Most urethanes are not recommended for use below the water line and will tend to blister after a week or two. Owner of the company painted his fiberglass pool with it! I left a test panel in saltwater for ~ 6 weeks and it held up fine. Here's a link to my post on bottom painting I made a few years ago. Call Tom Fabula and he can mix up any color you want.

Denny, the mind is the second thing to go...haha

If you remember the paint I used was tested for 30 days in my own salt pond, the icw. and after 30 days no sign of break down...

Stay away from "Pappy" ok...

You're right Terry, I had forgotten about that stuff you used! What was the name of it - Insignia or something? Why not post a link to it in case others are interested.
