Thanks. Seems like no easy fix. Not sure what needs to happen there.
Beautiful boat restore

Having spent many years on my dad's Sceptre OB, I would caution the battery placement. As others have said, this model sits bow heavy by nature, so weight placement is critical. His '82 was originally rigged with twin 200 Johnsons so plenty of weight aft to counteract the bow-down attitude. The original owner then repowered with a single 225 Evinrude looper which caused the bow to sit lower than before. All this time both batteries and trim tab pump were located in the transom lockers. I should also mention she had the 144 gallon fuel tank option which also caused additional weight carried forward based on the length of the tank. In the mid 2000's, my father repowered her with a rebuilt 225 Yamaha OX66, and at the same time added a manual jack plate with 5" setback to shift the fulcrum point further aft. This did the trick, along with adding some bulky items like toolbox and whatnot to the sole-mounted live well that he never used.

The 300 G2 you're going with is a heavier motor than the OX66, but even still, I wouldn't want the batteries that far forward. Perhaps inside the cabin lockers against the aft bulkhead, but no further. Remember that you (and a passenger) will be riding ~6-8 feet from the bow so there is additional weight to consider.
