Re: Killed the bass today!
Ed,
We couldn't get the compression washer(?) off the prop shaft, so we didn't test it out. This is the metal ring/washer that goes on before the prop, not sure if I have the name right. Being a Mercury prop there is a conversion kit for Yamaha and we couldn't get the Yam washer off to put on the Merc one. Yes, I received the rain gear yesterday, thank you! We haven't run to P-Town yet, but running straight across from Minot Light is the most direct route once we get out into open water. We wouldn't do it on a questionable day anyway, so the direct route would be our choice instead of hugging the coast. Jon, I'll be down Cuttyhunk way this weekend looking for cows (and the funny fish ). Weather sounds decent, maybe you can get the ol' Blazer to cooperate and tow the rig to WH? I'll be on a buddy's boat, Avery J, fishing the Monahan's ASA tournament. Sleeping on the deck in your rain gear - at least you'd look classy being in a SC . Oh yeah, I'll be on Cape Labor Day weekend and I can be easily convinced to do a Nantucket run ! |

Re: Killed the bass today!
Scott ...You might want to try a small wheel puller to get the thrust washer off....how ever you do it just be gentle with it…. dont want to mess up the seals on the new motor.....Did you notice if they had grease on the shaft when the wheel came off??
