Sandy, You is some kinda' VISIONARY.....!
Long Point will be like a shake down cruise to see who's "IN". Then we got to find a Cayo between Monkey River, Belize and Livingston, Guatemala, steal a Bucyrus Erie 30B, hijack a tug and barge, motor down there and cut some canals into the island for ever-body to have a place.
We'll get one of them BRP Generators Kmoose was talk'in about, because you only git 'em serviced every 3 years, and we don't want the chain fall'in off and ever-body has to ride a Green Kawasaki Dirt bike or drive one of those Saab 96s and when the short guy yells "de Plane, de plane" it'll be a four engine Rotax powered PBY. I got everything figured out except how to get Carla's 40' Neon light what says "Tiki Bar" in great big letters and "last stop for Four Stroke oil filters next 400 miles" in little letters across the bottom, without break'in it....!

Cap`t Lloyd, this is for you.

As a young lad, I was waiting tables at the Black Swan just north of Melbourne. Great little chef owned place. Ian`s wife Paula ran the floor. They also ran the Black Tulip in Cocoa Village. c 1980-81 when I was there. A family as great places were in those days.

A supper club had opened up nearby. Casablanca. Sly was to play 2 shows that Saturday.
We all had tix for the midnight show. Well, after service we are having a glass of wine and cashing out. Waiting for some food always cooked by the kitchen at close. Not many places do that anymore. A long white limo pulls in and around the door. Someone gets out
We cant see who it is.

In walks Sly asking where the f is this Copa Cabana club? Completely wasted. We all jumped up and yelled SLY, come on in. Well, we gave him some food and many other things as we did in those days. They followed us to the club. That was a powerful band and somehow Sly pulled it off.
What a talent.
Cheers,
GFS

Sandy,

Mention of those places do jar my memory, although the Black Tulip is still open (I don't know who runs it). Hanging out with Sly Stone had to be a trip (you were probably already on one). Did you ever witness the biker/surfer fights at the A-Frame?

As for Long Point, once again, my day job may get it the way. That weekend falls on my time frame to bring the big boat up from the Caribbean. Hopefully, I can get the boss, his kids and grandkids to finishup thier island vacations, so I can get the yacht up to Florida before the Long Point weekend. If I'm home, I'll run down from Satellite Beach, maybe sleep out in the 23WA one night, bring the 20SF down another day.

I sure it will be entertaining, to say the least

Lloyd

Now I got to listen to Bobby Goldsboro or Neil Diamond until my ears heal! (Yuk...!)

Beside that, according to the NSA data, you are up in that Big Bend / Panhandl'in area of FLA with the 352 area code. If that be the case, according to DHS pamphlet 13, Chapter 7, section 121.b, you ain't supposed to be listen'in to music which is "generated more than one adjectent area code away from your primary residence". If that's correct you need to git focused on the Marshall Tucker, Allman Brothers, B-52's, Tom Petty, the CDB, Georga Satellites and bands what sound like that, not Styx, who look like they just stepped out of a Redkin commercial. If ya' keep listen'in to Styx we'll have to change your name from Heron to Cattle Egret...!

Fer homework, you'll need to study "Uneasy Rider" by the CDB until you can recite it completely and don't ferget the part about the guy what got da "green teeth".
They'll be a test at Long Point.

"They'll be a test at Long Point."

Wait....waaait.....wait a minute!! No one told me there would be any type of testing, especially intelligence testing, going on at LP!!! I would rather not be part of that!!! If true, camp site #79 will be fenced off with some kind of electro magnetic killer beams (my favorite option) or the mundane, everyday, generic force field to keep out testing predators.

Tom and Bucky still run the tulip.

The A Frame oh crap that is funny. Why did the bikers
hate the surfers? Saw a biker eat a Bud bottle at the
Thirsty Turtle once. Piece by piece.
Remember Brassy's?

All the great southern bands played there.

Anyone remember Grinderswitch?

Well, I'm a faithful follower of Brother John Birch and
I belong to the Antioch Baptist Church, and I ain't even
got a garage. You can all home and ask my wife.

He started saying something about the way I was
dressed......
Know it by heart!
