absolutely! I can procure a spot or 10.......There is a lot next to Guanabans (by the old Art's Outboard). The guy that ran it left for an undisclosed Island near South America. That guy worked on all our motors from the 70's till 5 yrs ago.

I'm thinking Mr. Go Fast Sandy can come up with something! The public ramp is nice, but tons of rules concerning overnight parking.

The big question is where to go....

I personally like the abacos. I am sure I could get a pretty good price for rooms at Foxtown but there are several other options in the Abacos. Not a whole bunch to do there, but the fishing is good and the cocktails seem to go down just fine

If we do head towards that side of the Bahamas, I would vote to leave out of Stuart and head into Walkers. Perhaps spend a night or 2 at Grand Cay and then head down to Little Abaco for the rest of the week. That should make for a nice time and split the travel up a bit. We could stay at Maxwells or Rosies on Grand. I have not stayed at either in the last few years but used to in the past.

The Ramp at Sailfish (Stuart) does not have much for rules as far as overnight parking goes, and there is no cost to use it.

I will go with the flow, but would like to avoid a trip to West end due to cost for rooms and lack of quality fishing.

I don`t know my real fuel burn #`s cuz they are hard and I`m easily confused. They can be scary.

Made that trip about a half dozen times from Palm Beach (Lake Worth) Inlet 30-35 years ago, generally via Memory Rock to Walkers. One advantage of leaving from a little further south is that you get a lift from the current instead of having to fight it and aim south of your destination . . . I believe the compass course for Memory Rock was about 87 degrees true at 20 kts. I agree much easier to clear customs at Walkers than West End, and the Abacos are much nicer than Grand Bahama. Foxtown is ok if all you want to do is fish, and the reefs up north are probably less fished out, but there is a lot more to do further south. Families might enjoy Green Turtle, Great Guana, Man O'War and Hopetown more.

What's the gas situation and prices over there these days? I assume Walkers is still trashed. Any gas at Grand Cay or is Foxtown the only option? The guys I ran with years ago said Foxtown was fairly primitive . . . too shallow to get into dock, so they rowed the hose out to you in a dingy! Got gas via gravity feed from a tank up on the hill! Your pictures indicate it's a little more civilized now!

Got gas once at Cooperstown when Walkers was out; it was fairly primitive, with an unprotected 12' high pier out into Abaco Sound! Fuel line on dock had a leak (downstream of pump!

) - little kids on dock caught the gas in a coffee can & dumped it into a 5 gal jug, said "get rest of yo gaas here mon!" We didn't complain because at least they had gas, but on the later trips I carried enough gas to run all the way to Green Turtle just to avoid those hassles!

It has gotten better at foxtown. Still not much to do there, I am not sure if we are talking a family trip here or a fishing trip. There is gas at Foxtown, and at Grand Cay (Rosies. Foxtown has 2 fuel docks now. 1 at the hotel I normally stay in and one a few miles up the coast. Both have electric pumps (unless the power goes out).

Gas is just over $6 at foxtown. As long as you don't need much more than 4' of water the docks are accessible.
