I find that with thicker resins, if I have to wet out in place I have to roll the heck out of it to get it to wet out evenly, and by the time i'ts wetted out sufficiently I've stretched it or warped it, and end up with hairball ends.
Mostly on vertical or overhead surfaces. Floors I can do.

My go-to utility glass is 1708 biax. Maybe that's too heavy?

Always wet out the substrate before putting the glass on it, especially with 1708. It helps to dry fit it and make reference marks on the glass and whatever its going on. That way u know if its going on where it needs to be, its a real pain to try and move glass if its laying on a sticky wet out surface as im sure u know...

What epoxy are you using?? Sometimes ill warm up the resin just a bit to get the viscosity down...

Got the non CSC ready to go for a three hour tour if ya know what I mean. It'l be one of those 150 mile days on the left coast, leavin the dock @ 4:30. And yea it twas a pleasure. You are a master of glass work that I dream to be in the next life time.

Dirt, Really great meeting you last weekend at River Palm. I just went through the whole Squid Lips thread again. Outstanding work! I should have picked your brain about the Bunny/Coffin while its still fresh as I have been planning on going that route. Hope you can make it to Homosassa in Sept. Other than that I can stop by your place heading to or from the Carolinas this summer with a 18pack and a respirator.

Jackplate covered gutter drain holes, (well Bob's did, the old crappy i originally used for measurements didnt). Had to make a spacer out of some 1/2" g10
