Some more progress. Foam is glued in. Also cut some foam for under the deck. Gonna use a kodiak baitwell mounted on a stand. Seems it will make things alot easier and you want have to worry about water splashing on your back. Cut some pieces for supports under the gunnels and some rod holders. Pulled some 202 over the glass to give me something to sand so I can make the box somewhat smooth. Think I may cut a hatch in the back bulkhead so I can access the other side of the baitwell and also put a high speed pickup and seacock valve. Thinking the further up from the motor the less disturbance it will cause.

Gunnels are done, routed and all. Just disassemble, and glue back together and glass. Stand for baitwell glued and glassed in. Went ahead a put a layer of glass on both side walls in bilge area and one on the starboard box inner wall. Next filet some corners in the foam box and a layer of 1708 in there. Get the gunnels glassed and back deck glued and glassed, then there will be hourssssss of sanding.
Note to self....never paint bilge until final decision making is done.... |

Man, you are making me feel lazy. You have made more progress in the past two weeks than I have on my boat in the past two months. Tell your buddy to stop taking in piss in the garage though, that can't be sanitary.

Sanded some on the 202 where the baitwell is with some 80g on the 8". Made quick work of it. Spread some on the fishbox and these boxes and bilge should turn out fairly smooth. Put in some drains for the boxes. May put some kinda of screen inside the drains on the boxes to catch guts and trash. It could be almost 7" deep. Pull out the screen and dump trash out instead of it going n the bilge. Did manage to use one big piece of glass for the fishbox plus one small square on the end. She is sealed up tight. Baitwell lid is alittle off. Last minute desicion to put the kodiak in. Was just gonna mold one up and glass to bottom but these kodiaks hold bait so good tho.

The scuppers turned out better than I thought. Cabosiled and glassed right over them and grinded out later. They are under the floor just enough to keep water from standing in the rear. Not sure why others dont do that. They go straight off the floor and then sometimes put flared brass or thruhulls in which extend above the floor an 1/8"-1/2". Who wants water standing in a gully or floor.

Cool, did you use a die grinder? Are you using poly or epoxy for this build?
